15) Your Motorcycle and Relevant Vehicle Documentation

It is your responsibility to ensure that your motorcycle is in a roadworthy condition for the tour you are going to undertake. Tyres and brake pads should be checked and they should have enough wear left to complete the tour and any onward journey you need to make. On all our European tours (including Moroccan tours through Spain), it is mandatory that you have an appropriate level of European breakdown cover which will enable both you and your motorcycle to be repatriated from Spain. It is not Motorbike Tours Ltd t/a Moto Travel Dude's responsibility to repatriate you in case of motorcycle breakdown or accident.

For Moroccan tours, there is no national breakdown cover available. Whilst the tour guide will assist in finding a local garage, it will be your responsibility to cover costs for any repairs. Additionally, there is no national recovery available. The tour guide will assist in finding a local recovery company to bring your motorbike back to port, where once in Europe it is covered under your European breakdown cover. It will be your responsibility to cover costs for any recovery in Morocco (usually not more than £250).

You must bring the appropriate documentation relating to your motorcycle with you. The local police do perform stop checks and you will be expected to provide the following documentation:
-
V5 Ownership document (original)
-
Valid MOT certificate
-
Drivers license
-
Certificate of insurance
-
Passport
-
Relevant ETIAS documentation (tbc)

16) Sidecars and trikes
Tours advertised here are for motorcycles only. Please contact us if your motorbike has a sidecar or 3 wheels! You're still welcome but we will have to make allowances for parking etc and it may effect ferry prices.

17) Your responsibility to yourself and other tour members.

You are expected to ride in a courteous manner, in respect of other road users, and especially the other members of the tour. This is a group event and as such you, as a member of the group, have some responsibility towards other group members. If you look after them they will look after you. On our tours and in the true spirit of motorcycling there is no room for selfish actions.

We expect you to ride safely at all times, and it is your responsibility to be individually aware of the prevailing speed limits, road signs and rules of the road etc for the particular country you are travelling in.

All riders must be in possession of a full and valid license for the class of machine they are using for the country they are visiting. We will advise you to obtain an International Driving Permit/License if necessary; this can be obtained from most major post offices.

We only accept motorcycles that are insured, road legal and with visible/legal registration plates. Bikes should be in good condition with a current MOT. Each participant is responsible for their motorcycle in regards to care and use and for the conformity of it with the laws in force for each country visited on your specific tour. In the case of mechanical breakdown whilst riding your own Motorcycle you are responsible for recovery/repatriation and or repair of the motorcycle. All riders with pillion are responsible for their pillions safety.

Motorcycle Insurance: Each participant must be in possession of valid insurance for their vehicle, for themselves (and their pillion), including valid repatriation insurance for the vehicle and for themselves (and their pillion), where applicable. Any incident or accident that involves a participant (or their pillion) will not be accepted as the responsibility of Motorbike Tours Ltd unless a Motorbike Tours Ltd employee is directly involved and responsible for the incident.

When booking a tour we assume that the participant (and pillion if applicable) will have read the Tour Itinerary and will be fully aware of the route, destinations and the approximate mileages for each day. It is the responsibility of the customer to assess their own ability and stamina for the tour and to have made the judgement that it is an appropriate tour for them to undertake. We cannot be held responsible if the customer is out of their comfort zone in regards to the difficulty of the tour.

18) The option of not riding in a Group.

Our guides are always happy to guide whoever wants to be guided. However, we appreciate that we are all different. In each group there will always be a range of experience and abilities. Also, we realse that customers wish to do different things whilst on tour. Some in the group may not like riding in a group, may want longer or more frequent coffee stops, longer lunch breaks, want to get to hotel earlier or stop off and visit a point of interest. There is no problem with any of this but as I am sure you can imagine it is often impossible for the Guide to meet all these competing needs should they occur on a tour. The guide will always be guided by the majority wishes of the group. As such if you wish to take a longer lunch break on one day, want to get to the hotel earlier, spend longer at a point of interest etc, then we ask that you let the guide know that you will be making your own way to hotel. We have absolutely no problem with clients doing their own thing but would expect the client to communicate their intentions to the guide. The guide may well have some useful tips on where to stay or what to see.

19) ETIAS - European Travel Information and Authorisation System
At some point in 2025/2026, the EU will be rolling out their Entry/Exit System and with that a fee (approximately €7) that may need to be applied for in advance. It is currently unknown exactly when this will start.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/eu-entryexit-system
