This is an EPIC tour will take you through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Europe, as you make your way over all the BIG Alpine passes.

We're hitting 7 countries, 7 different foods, 7 different cultures, as you wind your way through twisting mountain roads and charming alpine villages.  Feel the rush of adrenaline as you carve through stunning mountain passes, embraced by snow-capped peaks and crystal-clear lakes—where the road is yours and every turn is a celebration of fearless freedom.

Fairytale castles, crazy switchbacks, mountains so high you strain your neck looking up, dense forests, living glaciers and beautiful cascading waterfalls.

This Alpine Adventure is the trip of a lifetime!

We're looking at 120-200 miles per day with around 6 hours saddle time on some days, but there's always a shorter route if you want to take it easy.

This is a great introduction to European touring and we're ticking off some big ticket attractions!

Black Forest and the B500, Alpbach (the prettiest village in Austria), the Deutche Alpinestrasse, Neuschwanstein Castle and the other fariytale castles.

Then Grossglockner pass, Timmelsjoch pass and a visit to the TOP motorbike museum, the quaint Gardena pass, the foreboding Stelvio pass, the ridiculously fun Furka pass.

Finishing with a circuit of the Vosges mountain range, including the Route de Cretes following the peak line, before codiwompling back to Belgium for a beer and then home. â€‹

As usual, if you want to make your own tracks to our nightly accommodation, you’re more than welcome, otherwise we will guide you all the way with an English speaking biker leading.

It is 100% tarmac with no planned off roading and no vignettes are required!

Day 1

Folkstone to Arlon

– 230 miles.

We will meet up early at the services near to the Folkstone Le Shuttle terminal, for a quick forecourt coffee, before all boarding a train at the same time. If you haven't taken your motorbike onto the tunnel, it can be a little daunting but your guide will be with you every step of the way (except passport control where they don't like you hanging around). 35 minutes later and we will be in the land of baguettes, ready for a run through northern France to Dinant in Belgium. We will try to miss out any toll routes today, staying on the slower but more scenic A roads instead. Around 6 hours saddle time today. Tonight's hotel is on the French Luxembourg border and has a simple but pleasant restaurant and a well stocked bar.

Day 2
Arlon to Lake Constance
– 230 miles.

It's a paced route today, mostly A roads as we have miles to munch, but detouring to pass through two national parks and hopefully following the rivers heading south east. We will pass through the principality of Luxembourg with it's towering hilltop castles and pretty streets, before crossing in to the North Vosges mountain range. Our big ride day today continues with the Black Forest and sections of the mighty B500 and the start of the Deutche Alpinestrasse. We then turn east and head torwards Lake Constance. This huge body of water is bordered by three countries and our home for this evening with a great restaurant right on the shoreline. About 6 hours saddle time today, plus multiple photo stops!

Day 3
Lake Constance to Lake Achensee
– 180 miles.

We're riding the Deutche Alpinestrasse, the German Alpine Road. This scenic 301 mile long road is renowned for its breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps, including mountains, lakes, and charming towns. Once past the mountain of Zugspitze (the highest mountain in Germany) and the comically named Mount Wank (it's as exciting as it sounds), we will turn south into Austria, heading towards Lake Achensee for this evening's Alpine retreat.

Day 4
Lake Achensee to Hohenwerfen
– 150 miles.

We're heading back into Germany on the Deutche Alpinestrasse, continuing east. Here we may have a chance to view the Eagles Nest. The fortified hilltop retreat, complete with golden elevator which was a gift to no other than Adolf Hilter. We continue with our WW2 theme as we Doh, Ray, Me to the hill where Julie Andrews filmed The Sound Of Music. Then past the hilltop castle of Burg Hohenwerfen from the Clint Eastwood classic Where Eagles Dare. Interestingly, our hotel for this evening is near to the largest ice cavern in Europe. Cool.

Day 5
Hohenwerfen to Pearl of the Dolomites
– 160 miles.

Grossglockner! The highest mountain in Austria and super awesome road with breathtakingly beautiful views. Time to fill your Instagram feeds with pictures of your bike on this spectacular road. The Grossglockner toll is included and we will inevitably stop for a coffee at the top, to admire the beautiful views. Then down the Italian side to the Dolomites mountain range. Our hotel is nestled in the 'Pearl of the Dolomites' and does a fantastic pizza! Bellissimo!

Day 6
Dolomites to Timmelsjoch
– 180 miles.

Timmelsjoch! Another big name mountain pass, the Timmelsjoch is curve after curve of motorcycle pleasure. At the top of the pass is the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum (Crosspoint). In 2021 a devastating fire ravaged this 'highest motorcycle museum in Europe'. But after months of rebuilding, the museum and restaurant are thankfully back in business. Tonight we're back in Italy at a family run auberge with a fantastic restaurant. They do a pasta dish with a wild boar sauce. Totally delicious.

Day 7
Timmelsjoch to Interlaken
– 220 miles.

Today's the big three! STELVIO, FURKA and GRIMSEL. These passes are legendary but also a real pain in the saddle. Whilst it's the highest paved pass in the eastern Alps, as this is a normal road, busses and caravans also come up the Stelvio pass causing chaos in their wake. It's technical, challenging and equally fun. And if you think that's all, there's more to come with the Furkapass. Famous for Pussy Galore taking a potshot at James Bond in Goldfinger, it's also the source of the Rhone glacier which feeds the river Rhone. Finally Grimsel pass. Not famous for anything in particular but is still spectacular. We're in the heart of Switzerland tonight, in the shadow of the Alps.

Day 8
Interlaken to Vosges
– 200 miles.

Switzerland! No vignettes or tolls, but we're leaving the land of chocolate and cuckoo clocks, heading north past Basel into France. We've got a pace on today with Swiss ground to cover (but avoiding motorways), until we hit the Vosges mountain range. Whilst not as impressive as the Alps, the roads are (in my humble opinion) more fun. Curves are sweeping and traffic is negligible. We will ride the Route de Cretes, the ridge route between the Haut-Rhin and Vosges counties. Tonight we stay in the heart of the Vosges mountains.

Col du rangiers

Day 9
Vosges to Bascharge
– 160 miles.

Vosges mountain range! We're properly leaving the snow behind and heading into glorious winding roads up through the Vosges. Although 160 miles, this is quite a 'paced' day. Fast sweeps instead of twisties. We may dip into Luxembourg and will be staying on the outskirts of Bascharge, famous for its breweries!

Andorra1
Day 10
Bascharge to Folkstone
– 250 miles.

Boo hoo, time to head home BUT before we do, lets get a bit of Luxembourg and Belgium done! We normally route through the picturesque town of Dinant (birthplace of the dude who invented the Saxophone) and wiggle our way into northern France before hitting the relatively boring motorway up to Coquelles. An easy ride onto the train and we have 35 minutes to reminisce about our trip, swap contacts with your new found riding buddies and plan your next adventure.
