The Perfect Time to Ride
When is the best time to hit the road in Morocco? Generally, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most pleasant weather for riding. The temperatures are mild, and the landscapes are lush. However, if you’re up for a challenge, summer can be an adventure in itself, especially in the cooler mountain regions.
Choosing the Right Motorcycle
The internet will tell you that not all bikes are created equal, especially when it comes to tackling the diverse terrains of Morocco. Nonsense! Anything over a 400cc motorcycle is fine, as it's all about the rider! I've seen 50cc monkey bikes riding across the dunes, as well as giant 1300GSA and everything in between.
To date, we've had Harley Davidson choppers, many sleek Moto-Guzzi's, a Ducati Streetfighter (he must have had a sore backside after a week), Triumph Scramblers and a Street Triple, several CF Moto's, Yamaha MT's, a range of Honda's and of course various Tigers and BMW GS's. It really doesn't matter what bike, as long as you can ride the speed limit comfortably.
